kredl started as a conversation between two developers who kept watching incredibly talented people around them struggle to find the right opportunities — not because they weren't good enough, but because the right people couldn't find them.
We watched friends — dancers, musicians, actors, visual artists — spend more time chasing opportunities on Instagram DMs and WhatsApp groups than actually creating. The infrastructure just didn't exist.
LinkedIn is built for corporate culture. Instagram is built for entertainment. Behance is built for visual portfolios. None of them were built for the actual professional creative economy — where a film director needs to find a composer, or a choreographer needs to connect with a production house that's actually casting.
So we started talking to artists. A lot of them. In Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai. The same five problems kept coming up in every conversation — and the same platform kept not existing.
kredl is our answer to that.
We heard these in every user interview. They're why we built kredl the way we did.
A classical dancer in Delhi with 10 years of stage experience is invisible to a production house in Mumbai that needs exactly that profile. Discovery doesn't work for creative professionals.
IMDb is for celebrities. LinkedIn credits mean nothing. There's no way to build and verify a professional credit history if you're a working but not famous artist.
A filmmaker has no way to find a composer. A choreographer can't find a set designer. Creative projects are interdisciplinary but there's no infrastructure for that collaboration to happen.
Actual professional opportunities — casting calls, session bookings, film projects — circulate in informal networks. If you're not in the right group, you simply don't know.
Instagram follower count has become the only proxy for professional credibility. That's broken. A session musician with 200 followers and 500 studio credits has no way to show that.
The Indian creative economy is world-class — but connecting to Hollywood, the West End, or global music markets is almost impossible without the right industry infrastructure.
kredl exists so that the most talented artists — not just the most connected or the most famous — can find the opportunities they deserve. We believe the creative economy becomes richer, more diverse, and more powerful when the infrastructure that serves it actually works.
We go deep into subcategories because industry professionals search for exactly what they need. "Contemporary dancer available for film — Mumbai" matters. "Creative person" doesn't.
Fake opportunities and unverified profiles destroy trust. Every professional credit on kredl is verified. Every opportunity posting is vetted. Trust isn't a feature — it's the foundation.
We're not building an entertainment feed. We're building a professional network where showing up and making real connections has real career impact. Quality over virality, always.
Every person who contributes to a project should have that work recognized and visible on their professional profile. The composer, the costume designer, the choreographer — not just the director.
We're early. We're scrappy. And we genuinely believe this is one of the most important platforms that doesn't exist yet. Whether you're an artist looking for a home, a studio looking for talent, or someone who wants to help us build — we'd love to hear from you.
